For this purpose, NanoBiotech R&D designed a paediatric compatible hydrogel wound dressing containing plant-derived antimicrobial active protein. What is Hydrogel?

Hydrogels are soft and rubbery polymers that can hold very high amounts of water and biological fluids in their structure thanks to their three-dimensional structure, hydrophilic properties, surface tension and capillary forces. Due to these properties, hydrogels have structure resembling living tissues. Furthermore, hydrogels, which allow a high rate of oxygen and mass transfer, have high biocompatibility, low immunogenicity and cytotoxicity, ease of processing and adjustable physicochemical properties and hydrogels are recognised as an important material for biomedical applications.
